Family Session At StOneLeigh


There is something magical about fall in the Philadelphia area. One of my favorite places for this season is Stoneleigh on the Main Line. Stoneleigh's gardens provides inspiring displays of native plants blooming in various times throughout the year. The beauty of the place is the magnificent Tudor style estate. I was able to book our session well in advance as session times can be difficult to come by.


With a combination of architecture and abounding color, I met with my client on wardrobe possibilities. The palette she chose for her family was gorgeous. With coordinating different tones of creams, green and a mixed of fall orange, this shoot was perfect for fall.

It's Personality


As a photographer, your images should reveal aspects of your family. Children grow up so quickly, it's unreal. Her two children were lovely. In fact, her son reminded me of my own middle schooler and we knew we wanted images of him being--him. A son who is growing and you missing that little Elementary School version, but you know he's becoming the best version of himself. Did I mention how much I loved her daughter's beautiful hair color? Does she know people pay for such lovely color?

Planning Family Sessions


Fall dates book several weeks in advance, especially during peak foliage. Also, with any photographer you use, find out the time of day they have available. The best images are capture 60-90 minutes before sunset for beautiful light. When considering your families clothes, think of what is flattering but also what could work for artwork on your walls.
